Wahchay / Hello: Her true name is Niimi Manitou Kwe or Dancing Spirit Woman; her English name is Katrina Graham. She is of Scottish and Cree heritage and grew up in Kitchener-Waterloo. Complementary therapies have become a natural part of her own healing and nursing care. Being a native woman she became aware of the traditional and wholistic nature in which we heal others and ourselves. She understands that we have a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual self. We all too often forget we are comprised of all these beings, and that we have to care for all of them in order to heal wholistically.

In 2012 Katrina graduated from McMaster University’s Collaborative Program, through Conestoga College. In her final year at nursing school she completed a placement at Anishnawbe Health in Toronto; there she had an opportunity to work closely with the traditional healers and learned more about our traditional ways. She learned about energy healing and how working with traditional medicine we can heal spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. She finds to cleanse the spirit is important to clean us from the negativity and sickness we as spiritual beings can pick up along our journey. Katrina recognized her energy healing gifts and is on a path to use them to help her clients heal themselves. Her many spiritual and nursing mentors have encouraged her to meld her nursing and traditional knowledge together. It is her hope that one day all healthcare providers will be aware of, and practice a wholistic way, not solely from a physical or mental approach.
